State Representative, Hillsborough District 35

Liz Barbour

WHO I AM

NH STATE REPRESENTATIVE

Founder and Publisher of The Positively Hollis Post in 2024.
I am proud to create and deliver Hollis’s only local newspaper free to every home and business in town. The Positively Hollis Post is a purely non-partisan publication dedicated to sharing articles of local interest and helpful resources to connect neighbors and strengthen our community. All profits are donated back to Hollis organizations.

In 2004, I founded Liz Barbour’s Creative Feast, a unique culinary instruction business. What began as local cooking classes across New England has grown into a successful nationwide venture through online platforms.

WIFE, MOTHER, NEIGHBOR

My husband Ted and I moved to Hollis 27 years ago with our two children. Like many of you, we came to Hollis for the excellent schools, the acres of open farmland, and the strong sense of community that defines Hollis. From the moment we arrived, we knew that Hollis would be a community where we could put down roots for our family, a place where our children would thrive, and where we would make long-lasting friends we could count on.

WHY I AM RUNNING

I am running because I believe in the bright future of New Hampshire and its unique identity as the most free state in the nation. Now–more than ever, we need people of conscience in Concord to stand up against Democrat legislators seeking to remake our state in the image of our neighboring states by increasing government overreach. I will continue to champion common-sense, constitutional, limited government and individual freedoms. I will prioritize the safety and protection of our children, the safety of women and girls in private spaces, the rights of parents, and excellence in education for every student. With your support, I will work to ensure that every New Hampshire citizen continues to "Live Free." I ask for your vote for conservative Republican candidates like me who share your values–keeping our majority at the State House is the only way to preserve our state's unique identity.

KEY LEGISLATIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS 2024-2026 TERM

Appointed Vice Chair, Environment and Agriculture Committee in May 2025

Co-Sponsored HB 1763

Signed by Governor Kelly Ayotte, June 2026. This law creates a study committee to address the concerns of Hollis residents regarding a community residence home located in Hollis. As a co-sponsor of the bill and a member of the committee, I am committed to collaborating  with state agencies to work within the framework of the law to create clear, actionable guardrails for community residences located within neighborhood settings.

Sponsored HB 1186

Signed by Governor Ayotte, June 2026.

This law provides greater protections to New Hampshire’s local and small-scale egg sellers, and prevents government overreach. Hollis egg farmers directly benefit from this law.

Led efforts to create a licensing pathway for nature-based preschools

At the request of Beaver Brook Association Program Director Becky Kellner, I worked with the Department of Health and Human Services to address licensing regulations that are not compatible with the nature-based preschool model. This initiative positions Beaver Brook Association and New Hampshire as leaders in outdoor early education across New England.
